How long have you been doing make-up?
I started in 1999. Before that time, I practiced doing make up on my friends who were dancers and working on stage.
What has been the most exciting part of your career working for Dior?
Honestly, there is more than just one part, but the most exciting part is to work with the Dior International Pro Team. It is a melting pot of different cultures, languages, tastes, and mentalities. I have learned a lot. I also get a lot of my inspiration. And sure, meeting VIP’s and working with them for big events like the Cannes Film Festival is something that makes me proud. I see my make-up work on red carpets.
Does lifestyle affect the skin’s appearance?
Yes, of course! Sure your genes are major factors, but it you treat yourself well, take care, then your skin will be beautiful and healthy.
How does a woman avoid becoming a make-up tragedy?
Less is more! If you are insecure about your make-up look call a professional to get support and advice.
Is there a regimen for preparing the skin to be made up?
Preparing the face before applying make-up is very important. The combination of a well-treated skin and the perfect make up creates a flawless, natural and beautiful look.
I recommend cleaning morning and night using a serum, crème and eye cream. Sometimes it is good to use a mask to reward the skin. Additionally, primers help a lot to prepare and even the surface.
Describe how to shape lips.
I always draw from outside to the center, to create a positive full lip. For beginners the easiest way is to draw individual dots then connect them.
How does a woman choose the right foundation?
At the draw line, there she can see if the foundation matches with the natural skin tone of her face and throat. It has to be identical for a perfect natural effect.
Should a woman experiment with eyeliner colors?
Why not? Make-up for eyes, lips and nails is like fashion, the more you play with it the more different looks you find for yourself. It is a way to express your mood and character.
What one product from Dior should a woman have?
Dior Capture Totale Dreamskin is my favorite item at the moment. It is like magic! Totale Dreamskin immediately creates a more flawless, even, pore-refined, glowing, fresh, and moisturized skin.
For non-professionals do you recommend using an eye pencil or a liquid liner?
With an eye pencil there is a chance of smudging but you can always wipe away. However; drawing a line for the eye using liquid liner is difficult to accomplish. I would say, use a pencil.
