The second edition and new look of The Glare has arrived! We hope it was worth the wait. Exciting and challenging, but with a casual theme, is how I would describe putting this issue together. We did a number of interviews in this issue with some extraordinary and creative people: the common thread is they all had the vision to do it their way with great success.
This edition features our first photo editorials with denim and luxury.
What is hot weather without music? As I am writing this letter I am listening to one of Maestro DJ Paulo Arrudo’s smooth blends, who generously provided an exclusive online set for The Glare readers to enjoy.
We interviewed the creative talents of a successful new brand gaining an international fashion following. Lola Ramona shoes are for ladies who want to stand out in a delightful and coquettish way! Find out why in our interview.
The ascendancy of Asia as a global power is not confined to trade and commerce. Hong Kong prepares to become a major influence in the world art and culture, and the scale of the Kowloon Cultural District Project is breathtaking. Dr. Lars Nittve, executive director of the M+ Museum, gives us insight into this exciting new direction.
Staying on the subject The Jewel of the Orient, our travel feature of the month focuses on Hong Kong from a first-hand account recorded in a travel dairy.
Our book of the month selection is The New York Times 36 Hours Series. Guide books made fort he well-heeled travler.
Audrey Hepburn said, “The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.” In this edition, The Glare Beauty section is all about the eyes.
We give a big THANK-YOU to the brands that had faith in this magazine from the beginning, and welcome the new ones coming onboard! Team Glare is looking forward to collaborating with our new creative colleagues on fashion, travel, entertainment, and lifestyle features from London, New York, and Los Angeles.
