The most expressive feature of your face is your eyes. Here are a few quick tips to help you accomplish the looks you want for day and night effects.

Eyebrow Brush: Brush the eyebrows upward in one smooth stroke to reveal the hairs that should be tweezed.

Tweezing: Tweezing your eyebrows is one of those unpleasant tasks that no one enjoys but must be done … unfortunately, there can be a bit of pain in being well groomed and beautiful! Makeup artists recommend using tweezers with a pointed tip. Make sure the tips of your tweezers clamp together perfectly–you want to make sure they grab the hair the first time so you do not cause irritation. After tweezing, use an astringent to clean and soothe the skin.

Brow Pencil: Use a fine eyebrow pencil to fill in the uneven areas, taking care to apply in a precise manner. You can also use a pencil to lengthen and shape the look of the brows. Have fun experimenting with shades!

Curling: Curled lashes highlight your eyes, so do not fear the curler … just count to five, then relax! Place the eyelash curler as close to the base of the lashes as possible, and squeeze the curler as you work it outwards to create a soft curve. Curl your lashes before applying mascara.

Mascara: Before applying, wipe the excess mascara off the wand with a tissue. Try not to leave small pods of mascara on your lashes. Start at the lash line and work the brush upward and forward. Use black mascara to give your eyes more depth!

Eyeliner: Eye liner can create unlimited looks, from sublime to dramatic, depending on what effect you want to achieve. The eyes can appear smaller or larger depending on how you apply it: either on the bottom line or top. Bottom lining also creates a great evening effect. Eye pencils work great for lining–pull the eyelid taut for smooth application. Also, try lining your eyes with black eye shadow using a slim brush or applicator.
